I concur that you should start with tefview.exe as that will allow you to print tabs, hear them on your computer, and change their playback speed. Once I got beyond that, I found it easy to use, and it has myriad features that can be used to write tab for many instruments, including some that one would never expect to have tablature! It's safe, small, fast, and it works.Ĭreating tab with it was not intuitive for me, as I was accustomed to writing standard notation, in which note value truly represents sustain, whereas in TablEdit, note value determines the next note's placement. I've been using TablEdit since the mid '90s.
